I linked to buzzfeed, but please do not take their word for it when they write (archive):
Trump went on to say, “I love you Christians, I’m not Christian,”
When I first heard it, that’s what I heard: “I’m not”. As I’ve listened to it another dozen times, I just can’t tell. I can make myself hear it as “I’m a” or “I’m not” if I listen for either. I looked for more info and all I found was an Alex Jones version of the video on rumble and a reddit post with a youtube clip and the same audio experience as I’m getting – and several useless comments. I’m hoping we can do better here.
At least for now, it seems like the news is totally side-stepping this line and focusing on the part where Trump says we won’t have to vote anymore, with Maddow pointing out that he’s also been saying he doesn’t need votes this upcoming election and worrying that perhaps he’s already got state electors who will refuse to certify for anyone but him.
– but again, this is chat and I’m only trying to figure out what he actually said about himself being Christian (or not).
He wouldn’t even be able to tell you himself. He’d change his version to suit the situation.
By let’s face it, he’s not a Christian, nor are the supposed ones that support him.
Well yeah, but we know Trump doesn’t give a whit about facts. I’m trying to figure out if his tongue went up to the front of his palate to form an ‘n’ sound.
