Despite 96% of C-suite executives expecting AI to boost productivity, employees say it has increased their workload, hampered productivity and caused job burnout, research shows.

The new global study, in partnership with The Upwork Research Institute, interviewed 2,500 global C-suite executives, full-time employees and freelancers. Results show that the optimistic expectations about AI’s impact are not aligning with the reality faced by many employees. The study identifies a disconnect between the high expectations of managers and the actual experiences of employees using AI.

Despite 96% of C-suite executives expecting AI to boost productivity, the study reveals that, 77% of employees using AI say it has added to their workload and created challenges in achieving the expected productivity gains. Not only is AI increasing the workloads of full-time employees, it’s hampering productivity and contributing to employee burnout.

    Most places I’ve seen are trying to find ways to incorporate AI to help check for errors and reduce time on tasks.

    But it does assist me when I’m studying for a new role. Building a resume and upskilling on my own time.

    That’s usage of trained and publicly accessible models. I develop models and train them for a purpose. They’re rarely publicly accessible.

    Any examples of what they’re doing to exploit us with it?

    This is not the time, place, or manner for effective delivery. I’ll try to explain.

    Most decent humans can’t think along evil lines due to a lack of practice and psychological self-defense. But, I’m broken.

    You certainly see that Trump is evil. What if he was intelligent? What could an evil and intelligent small group in positions of power accomplish with AI and a sufficient budget?

    Everyone says they want truth. But, what they really want is comfort.

      I’m not really following. I thought you were saying it was about exploiting workers. Now it’s about trump. I really can’t think of what this small group would accomplish that they don’t already accomplish by hiring quants to their 500 year old think tank. Difference with AI is we now have our own force multiplier threatening their power.

      Partially why I think media is driving us to be so against AI.

      I see the same articles for AI as I do with any other propaganda like this it all has a familiar smell. My gut is telling me these small groups of powerful people do not want us to embrace AI
