Radio broken - turn the radio up
Squeeling brakes are the brake pad wear indicator
- you should do this before it wears the rotor or drum out
Leaking exhaust often accompanies a tick and is dangers to occupants of the car.
- patch with some quick steel or something or muffler wrap
Squeeling belts is usually old belt and are fidgety but easy to replace.
- just check pulleys by spinning them and make sure they don’t make bad noises too. You really want to take care of this before it breaks leaving you without cooling or battery.
Exhaust rattle i assume would be lose or broken mount.
- They usually hang in rubber bushes, you can get them very cheap from a car shop. Or tie it up with some fencing wire.
Engine tick depends on the actual cause and often expensive to diagnose but sometimes cheap to fix
Wheel bearings
- fix them you don’t want the wheel to fly past you at 100kmh into another car etc.
Most engine light warning problems can be fixed with a small square of electrical tape.
PSA if your car’s belts or breaks are squeeling, replace them. They’re designed to be noisy at the end of their lifespan, it’s supposed to let you know to replace them.
Drove on squeely belts for years, the snap. Engine boiled.
Also other noises. Ignored a noisy belt tensioner, tensioner turned into tensioner, idler and belt. And I had to drive 100km with no power steering or alternator. Luckily the water pump is on the cam belt
Just for those that are really struggling, many times it’s much much much cheaper to fix the problem immediately rather than wait. And doing it yourself is possible. You can even often borrow tools from your library. My library literally lends out fucking tablesaws!!! (Don’t use that to fix your car) Just something to keep in mind.
Misunderstood the assignment now i have two half cars that don’t match
