We’re proud to announce the new feature release of darktable, 4.8.0! The github release is here: https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/releases/tag/release-4.8.0. As always, please don’t use the autogenerated tarball provided by github, but only our tar.xz file.     Open source alternative to Adobe Lightroom

      That only helps people who know what Adobe Lightroom is for.

      In short, Darktable is a tool to generate images out of camera raw image formats. The workflow is much different from a traditional image editor. Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word “Linux” in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
