I’m not a Marvel guy, but I’m vaguely aware of that. But as someone who only read the occasional comic as a kid, it’s something I only learned of after the movies.
Because when he tried to play a white guy he got sued by Dave Chappelle.
They’ve got a point. Robert Downey Jr. has played many white roles over the years.
He played a black guy in Tropic Thunder.
No no he’s a black actor who played a white man in everything but Tropic Thunder.
Which is weird because how can a black guy be cast as a white guy in every single movie he’s been in except one?

That is true. They changed him to look like Sam Jackson. And then they started making Marvel movies afterwards, and were able to cast him as Nick Fury.
Jim Steranko art style was unique.
In star wars, he didn’t play a black guy, he played an alien.

It’s just racist. For a long time gay actors were afraid to come out because they would be stuck only playing gay parts (very few).
Black people need to get together and protest. They need to convince directors that they can play white characters too! Black actors shouldn’t be afraid to come out as black.
