On some free-to-play pay-to-win MMO about 15 years ago my guild leader spent about £500 on premium items for me. Not just me, also everyone else in the guild, I reckon he was down about £10,000 all in. Kept telling him not to but he was insistent.
I cant quite understand who exists in the Venn diagram between “has 10k spare to blow on nonsense” and “actually will do that”
If i had that kind of money just to play with I’d be on jet skis or hot air balloons or something.
A friend of mine played A LOT of Aion. The player who spent by far the most money later turned out to be a member of Qatar’s royal family. I can’t tell you much because the game was confusing and I was not that interested, but according to my friend, he also paid for alot of in-game junk for his guild. So he fits right into that cross section.
Best combo is someone who is rich enough to do it but smart enough to don’t do it.
