    Arguably coops are examples if communism at work, and there are plenty of big successful coops out there.

    From another perspective there was never any real communist country.

      Hello. Does this coops produce everything they need for completely sovereigntyanfd non dependence on capitalistic technologies and goods?

      This. Pretty much all of the most well-known examples of “Communism” have either been Capitalist offshoots, or Totalitarian hellscapes dressed up as Communism. There has been no actual attempt at textbook Communism/Socialism so far, from what I know.

      So the answer is: “no, because we haven’t even tried it as a species.”
