So I downloaded several romsets. Compressed into .zip and all stored in a single, uncompressed folder.
I used a random list of 100 ish trackers, most of which were broken. It was a random list https://github.com/ngosang/trackerslist I used the “all” section. Placed them in tracker slot. No web seeds
I copied the contents of what I was seeding and extracted a copy of one of the zips.

Downloaded using torrents or directly?

How did you do this?
The torrent broke about a minute after
What specifically do you mean by “broke”? Did you get a popup with an error message? Did your application crash? Did the torrent have a new icon in the application?
I don’t think I can upload media to beehaw
Use peertube or streamable for video, and imgur for pictures. With pictures you can black out any information you deem private.
It just stopped uploading. Nothing happened to client
How many leechers / people downloading it were there?
Do other torrents you downloaded from the web work?
Additionally did you just the trackers to the list or did you also publish your torrent somehow? I know of some trackers that require you to upload the .torrent and provide a description plus more information, otherwise nobody will be able to find it.
Edit: regarding the last point, trackers like the pirate bay allow uploading a torrent file (which is the procedure I knew of), but it seems like that isn’t always necessary with trackers. Many are just indexed by torrent search sites, so your torrent can be found.
Maybe just leave transmission open for a while and check that there actually leechers downloading it. BTW, if you aren’t already, consider a VPN, otherwise anybody will be able to see what you’re torrenting.
