Re-watching Spongebob as an adult made me realize there are literally no likable characters in that show. There’s legit not one character who consistently acts reasonably (no not even Squidward) and they’re seemingly cruel to each other just for the sake of being cruel. They all feel like a nightmare to live in the same city as. I get that the characters for a kids show have to be funny and not too deep, but what are we teaching kids when every character they look up to is objectively insufferable? Like even the random background townsfolk are assholes for no reason.
