For example, I don’t like Will Ferrell in his typical roles. Oh they just drive me batty.
But. I do love Stranger Than Fiction. It’s such a cozy movie.
Amber Heard. I used to find her attractive and her acting is decent. Then, the whole court case fiasco happened and I just can’t tolerate her anymore. I haven’t watched Aquaman because of her.
There are no exceptions.
Interesting. The court case made me hate Johnny Depp. We may not have watched the same lawsuit. 😬
I don’t think either came off great tbh
They’re both trash people who tried to use the other to make themselves look better.
In the end they both came out covered in shit.
You must be kidding. One got harassed and the other not. Yet 12 out of 14 facts of violence were recognized by the court. Masculinists used the fact that their was a recording in which we heard Amber saying shee slapped Depp to occult that. There was no big petitions to ask for Depp not to be in future movies, yet a lot of people signed for Amber Heard to be removed from Aquaman. Worse than that, Depp was supported massively by public opinion.
The initial comment goes along those lines. Bro can’t stand Amber Heard, yet nothing about Depp who is 1000x worse (if you need a memory refresh, go read the 12 facts of violence the court recognized).
I can’t speak to the details of their individual shittiness as i intentionally avoided it cause it was all very dumb celebrity gossip, but Depp was specifically dropped from every franchise he was a part of well before the American over-hyping happened. Hard to petition that someone be boycott when no one is hiring him anyway.
Dustin Hoffman. Apparently I’m the only one that can completely see through his method acting efforts. Nothing about him is convincing to me in the slightest. However I did enjoy him in Wag the Dog.
Walton Goggins and Will Arnett. I dunno why, I don’t like their acting and they look creepy to me.
I’m surprised no one has said Fran Drescher
Sean Penn, Adam Driver and this fart:
Fuck (and I cannot emphasize this enough) fuck Timothy Chalamet. He is always so wooden. He can’t act for shit. Hes just a very pretty nepo baby.
Also, can we count film makers? I hate Christopher Nolan. Every movie he makes is such a torturous slog. They are all metaphors for their own creation, and everyone of them is too concerned with the machinery, like hes pretentiously drawing attention to it. “GET IT? IM MAKING A MOVIE? IM A FUCKING GENIUS!”
Leo DiCaprio. No exceptions. The movies he’s been in that I’ve enjoyed were enjoyed despite him and not because of him.
His entire approach to a character is to put on an over-the-top accent and call it a day. I’ve never had the sense that any of his characters were the actual character and weren’t just “Leo with an accent”. I’ll be fair and say that he has improved in recent years, with movies like The Revenant being tolerable.
But holy shit, how his career went anywhere when people saw his “acting” in Titanic and especially Romeo and Juliet, is mind-boggling to me.
My wife laothes Tom Cruise. Hard stop. No exceptions. I don’t have any problems with him as an actor, the Scientology insanity is a whole other matter.
…maybe one exception: I was able to talk her into seeing Edge of Tomorrow by telling her that he dies 26 times on-screen and countless times off-screen.
Ryan Reynolds. The exception would be Waiting. I’m just so over him and his one dimensional acting.
Will Ferrell for sure.
Identical to OP.
Mine is also Will Ferrel.
Absolutely Will Ferrel!
Tom Cruise. No exceptions. Even when I don’t realize it’s him in a role (which was basically limited to his role in Tropic Thunder), his performances still irritate me.
The first Mission Impossible was good but that was it for me.
Not a Cruise fan myself, or NASCAR, but I do like Days of Thunder.
Also staring Nicole Kidman, Micheal Rooker, and Robert Duvall.
Every time I see a train of traffic approaching behind me as I floor it on an on ramp to the interstate I say to myself “IF YOU DON’T GET ME OUT IN FRONT OF THAT PACE CAR THIS RACE IS OVER!”
I agree, but I’ll watch Edge of Tomorrow or Oblivion if they’re on.
Edge of Tomorrow is just Tom Cruise getting killed over and over again. It’s great for people who hate Tom Cruise!
Oblivion is so underrated. I feel like I never see people talking about it but it’s a legitimately solid sci-fi movie with an amazing score.
Much better plot execution than the Island. Visually stunning. I like the architecture too.
I would say his role in Magnolia is the exception.
Aww yes, one of the best movies
Legend is still pretty good as well imo.
He’s young too, hasn’t gotten cocky yet
Basically all of them. At this point I feel like all celebrities are vapid shitty people. I don’t want to participate in para social relationships.
K thanks for your input.
I agree with him.
You’re probably insecure.
