A shame really since their stories kick-started the entire Marvel Comics mythos. The Skrulls, Black Panther, Galactus, Silver Surfer, and, of course, Doctor Doom all originated in the pages of FF comics. Yet, as time went, they were overshadowed by later creations. There were only two notable eras of FF comics: the original Kirby/Lee run and the John Byrne era. The only other notable FF stories were some crossovers with the Chris Claremont era X-men comics.

Just one more reboot and this time you’ll like the Fantastic Four, you’ll see. Just one more reboot and we’ll start making new films with new stories. We’ve just gotta change up the actors so we have to do the origin story over again, but this time for sure.

Well, for one, they come with a fuckton of nerves that cause orgasms to feel mind blowing, much of which get destroyed by circumcision.

Two, if there’s a flap of skin attached to and covering a body part, and this flap appears on very nearly every single male ever, there’s likely a really good reason evolutionary biology brought it about. Other such examples that come to mind are finger- and toenails, skin, recessed eardrums, the ability to close one’s mouth, and eyelids.

Even animals that don’t have one usually have an equivalent part, suggesting it’s a very old evolutionary adaptation

I’m not saying this in support of circumcision, but that’s not at all how evolutionary adaptation works. We are full of parts that are no longer useful and are infact sometimes downright more risky to have just because they aren’t likely to negatively impact our ability to procreate.

Do you plan to provide examples (other than the appendix and tonsils, that can be harmful to have if infected) of these useless organs we’re so full of? And why would I associate the foreskin, which has a clear protective use case, with these many, many other apparently useless/dangerous  organs we’re chock full to the brim with?

If you’re going to make a claim about evolutionary adaptation works, you have the burden to back your claim with more than just vague proclamations.

You provided two great examples, the recurrent laryngeal nerve and vagus nerve as well as hiccups, eye colors, some anemias, like sickle-cell or iron deficiency are others. However, your misunderstanding about what evolutionary adaptation (or more accurately, natural selection) is doesn’t mean somebody else has to prove you wrong, just because you define something incorrectly.

And all I pointed out was that your description of evolution by natural selection was wrong, the natural selection process doesn’t care about the existence of things that don’t decrease reproductive fitness, so those features won’t be selected against. So saying the fact a foreskin still exists therefore it must be useful isn’t supported by the way genetic evolution by natural selection works.

Sources aren’t even hard to find:

                  • [“First, it’s important to recognise that not all of an organism’s features are due to adaptation. For instance, some non-adaptive, or even detrimental, gene variants may be on the same DNA strand as a beneficial variant. By hitching a ride on the same DNA strand as the useful variant, a non-adaptive gene can quickly spread throughout a population. In other words, just because a certain trait is there doesn’t necessarily mean it’s useful.”](https://www.science.org.au/curious/earth-environment/why-evolution-isnt-perfect)
                  • “But here’s where it gets interesting – some traits stick around even if they’re not particularly helpful. Why? Well, as long as a trait doesn’t actively harm an individual’s chances of survival and reproduction, it might just hang around in the genetic wardrobe.”
