A SpaceX employee says that she spent seven years working at the company’s headquarters in Hawthorne, California enduring sexual abuse, unequal pay, discrimination, sexual harassment, and retaliation, in a new lawsuit against the company. But her story paints a much graver picture than those individual words can convey, describing widespread harassment and coordinated action to not only enable but also later give cover for sexual coercion, by a man she says was her direct supervisor.

Shitty company culture goes to the top. Of course Elton would hire people who act like that and he would give not even close to a fuck himself - after all, this is a guy who exposes himself to his personal flight attendants and buys ponies for women he harasses, starts affairs and has children with his employees.

I am not a partidary of Elon’s shit, but definitely I would doubt if it’s true or not, nowadays there are plenty of women who take advantage of new laws to do some crazy shit.

I hope everything get clarified and if it’s a false accusation she get actually punished and not just some head pats.

This summary (and the one on the page itself) give a real “I didn’t have time to read the document” vibe.

That said, I read just a chunk of it and it sounded reasonably convincing. Alleges a supervisor promised to promote her, and then on a work trip started sexually harassing her, pressuring her into having sex (unprotected) and eventually fathering a child. Says that the company was informed and didn’t do anything about it. Also stuff in there about being denied promotions in favor of bringing in men from outside, and being paid less than a man in the same role who was hired a week apart.

Freeways aren’t obligated to cater to pedestrians. Workplaces are obligated to foster safe environments for all employees. You can think what you want of things connected to musk but it still SpaceX’s fault at the end of the day.

Maybe she needed a job because this is a capitalist society and people without jobs often end up on the streets and that was the job she was best qualified for?

Can we please stop blaming workers for who hires them and how they treat them?

Do you know her situation? No you don’t.

This is some real victim-blaming. She was sexually abused. She was forced to father some asshole’s child. And your response is the employment equivalent of “she shouldn’t have worn that short skirt.”

Lol, what? I thought abortion was legal in California. Are you saying she was raped and kept the baby to term? Use your words, man.

And your response is the employment equivalent of “she shouldn’t have worn that short skirt.”

No it’s not, stop replacing what I’m saying with your own words as though they’re my own.

If you had read the document in the article, you would have known that he tried to force her to abort it after forcing her to have unprotected sex. It starts on page 13 if you want to read it for yourself.

And if that wasn’t what you were saying, what was your point in claiming she was only staying in that job out of greed?

So… she chose to have a child with someone?

Why are you even mentioning this?

what was your point in claiming she was only staying in that job out of greed?

Because, SpaceX is not the only company she could get a job at. That’s what I meant by my sarcastic remark saying “The only job she could get was at SpaceX” and “Her own greed had nothing to do with it.”

How about instead of pivoting and moving goalposts, you admit you were wrong and move on with your life? I don’t think you’re capable of that, though.

Can’t wait to see what irrelevant information you bring up next.

Sure, as soon as you read the document that her lawyers filed and realize why the first thing I quoted above was such an incredibly fucked up thing to say.

I’m not excusing Tesla, and I don’t give a shit about Tesla, but I have to say that this is basically every tech company. They are being sued like this constantly, and are usually settling out of court to avoid embarrassment.

In Vietnam it is even worse because they don’t sue the company. They just sort of deal with it, or they quit their job. In the best case they get a whole bunch of people to coordinate quitting at the same time.
