Is Spain the only country that learned anything from its colonial past?
Actually, this is the first time in my 31 year life I feel proud to be spanish.
most catalonians and basque don’t think so
Why though, both catalonia and the basque country are in the richest autonomous communities of the country and the current government while it could do more, is ideologically not as opposed as the other main parties, I’d say that with the given situation most catalonians and basques aren’t pissed with the country.
both the basque and the catalonians have sought independence and were brutally pushed down by the conservative governments of the very recent past. the current left leaning government has made concessions to keep them on board; but the voting trends for the last 15 years makes it crystal clear that the conservatives will be in power again and both the catalonians and basque are well aware that the the peace will expire in the next election.
I am basque, part of my family had to go to France to flee from the spanish prosecution. I know for a fact that in the last 15 years if there was a real referendum, independence would not have gone through.
I know my own history, and I am telling you that the current government is going in a decent direction in regard to the individual needs of autonomous communities. They could do more, sure, but I’d also say that given the alternative, it’s pretty decent.

I hope more facts come out about the situation. There hasn’t been much credible evidence published yet. It feels very reactionary for something we can amount to finger pointing.
Which is to obfuscate the fact that people are starving in Gaza, and shutting off food aid will not make that situation better.
Even if all them 12 spanish fired assault rifles on civilians, how can you dismiss the humanitarian work of the other twentyninethousand and ninehundredeightyeight people?
Ppl have lost the sense of relativeness this days.
@CollisionResistance the world has become weird
Hopefully, they would continue the funding.
